Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Untangle Android application (“Untangle”, “the app”). Untangle is provided by the developer identified on its Google Play listing.

2. Information stored locally

Untangle may store the following information locally on your device so that the game works as expected:

• the current or most recently unfinished puzzle;
• point positions, puzzle settings, and selected difficulty or size;
• onboarding, consent, and privacy-option preferences; and
• local gameplay statistics, such as completed puzzles.

The developer does not receive this gameplay information. You can remove locally stored game data by clearing Untangle’s app storage or uninstalling the app.

3. Google advertising, analytics, and notifications

Untangle uses Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Cloud Messaging. These services display advertising, provide aggregated app usage information, and deliver game news, announcements, or occasional puzzle reminders. Depending on your device, region, consent choices, and Google’s configuration, these services may automatically collect or receive:

• your IP address, which may be used to estimate general location;
• app and ad interactions, such as app launches, sessions, impressions, taps, and video views;
• diagnostic and performance information, such as launch timing, hangs, and energy usage; and
• device or app-related identifiers, which may include the Android advertising ID, app set ID, Firebase installation ID, and messaging registration token.

Google may process this information for advertising, ad measurement, analytics, notification delivery, security, and fraud prevention. Data transmitted by the Google SDKs is encrypted in transit. The developer may receive aggregated advertising and analytics reports but does not use those reports to identify individual players.

4. Consent and advertising choices

Where required, Untangle uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to request consent or present privacy choices before requesting ads. Based on your choices and applicable law, ads may be personalised, non-personalised, or limited.

When required for your region, the app provides a privacy-options entry point that lets you review or change available consent choices. You can also reset or delete the advertising ID through your Android device’s privacy settings.

5. Permissions and network access

Untangle uses internet and network-state access to request and display ads, submit analytics data, and receive notifications. On Android 13 and later, the app asks for notification permission before notifications can be shown. Notifications can be disabled in Android settings. The app does not request access to precise location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, phone calls, or text messages.

Puzzle gameplay remains available if an ad cannot be loaded or the device is offline.

6. Data sharing and sale

The developer does not sell personal information. Information described in Section 3 is transmitted to or processed by Google in connection with advertising, analytics, and notification delivery. The developer does not send saved puzzle layouts or node positions to Google.

7. Data retention

Local game information remains on your device until it is replaced, cleared, or the app is uninstalled. Firebase installation information and notification settings may remain until the app is uninstalled or its data is cleared. Information processed by Google is retained under Google’s own policies and applicable legal obligations.

8. Children’s privacy

Untangle is a general-audience logic puzzle and is not directed specifically to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect a child’s name, contact details, or account information. If the app’s intended audience changes, its advertising configuration and this policy will be updated to meet the applicable Google Play Families requirements.

9. International processing

Google may process advertising information on servers located outside your country. Google describes its international data-transfer practices and safeguards in its privacy documentation.

10. Security

Untangle limits its own stored information to local gameplay data and relies on platform security controls. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but reasonable measures are used to reduce risk.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Untangle’s features, advertising configuration, or legal obligations change. The revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.

Untangle does not provide user accounts or maintain a server-side copy of puzzle progress. For local-data deletion, clear the app’s storage or uninstall it.
